Media—Sunday Preshow Setup

Introduction

This is an in-depth guide on the setup of the production booth for Sunday’s Media needs.

Power On

In the booth, power on the workstation in the following order:

  1. Lighting
    1. Press the power button on the back right side of the Mac Mini.
  2. ProPresenter
    1. Move the mouse and press buttons on the keyboard to wake the Mac Studio.
    2. NOTE: This Mac should never be shut down. If the workstation is off, press the power button on the back left side of the Mac Studio.
  3. Audio
    1. In the Center U-rack under the desk, flip the power switch on the top left of the rack. The M32 console, in-ear systems, and microphones should power on.
  4. Stream Audio
    1. Press the power button on the back left of the iMac. It should either start up or wake.
    2. Press the power button on the back right on the X-Touch console.
    3. NOTE: You should see the Yamaha 2-channel mixer on the left side of the iMac power on. This is indicated by two white LEDs
  5. Cameras and Streaming
    1. Cameras
      1. Panasonic Cameras (Stationary)
        1. Remove one Panasonic battery off the charger and slot it in the back-side of the Panasonic Camera.
        2. On the right side of the camera, power on the camera by pressing in the small, thin white button (near the record button) and toggle the switch.
        3. Remove one L-series battery off the charger and slot it in the back of the top-mounted monitor. Ensure it is secure or the image of the monitor may not be accurate.
        4. Repeat this process for the next Panasonic camera.
      2. Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (Mobile)
        1. Remove two low-capacity L-series batteries and one high-capacity L-series battery from the chargers located in the Communications Office (Ask the Communications or Media Director for the location of the BMPCC6KPro Rig).
        2. Slot one low-capacity L-series battery in the battery compartment on the bottom right side of the BMPCC6KPro.
        3. Slot one high-capacity battery into the Hollyland Wireless Transmitter.
        4. Power on the BMPCC6KPro and the Hollyland Wireless Transmitter closer to the start of the service to preserve battery.
    2. Streaming
      1. Power on the Black Magic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO switcher on by inserting the power cable and twisting the silver lock, securing the cable. Both Multi-view (upper and lower deck) monitors should automatically power on.
      2. Press the power button on the back left of the Mac Studio.
        1. NOTE: If one monitor does not power on, press the power button on the monitor that is off.

Lighting

  1. Enter the password (kept by the Media or Communications Director).
  2. Open Vista 3.
  3. Open January 2023.
  4. Press all five buttons on the lighting board. They should indicate green.
  5. Slide all faders up to 100% to verify they are all working.

ProPresenter

  1. Turn on the projectors using the remote in the booth. Be sure to return the remote to the booth.
  2. Enter the password (kept by the Media or Communications Director).
  3. Open ProPresenter 7.
  4. Go to Screens > Configure Screens if the screens are not reflecting the needed output. Ensure that the projector screens reflect the main presentation display, the confidence monitor is showing the stage display, and that lower thirds is outputting to the video to the stream switcher.

Audio

  1. Flip the switch on the top of the rack located underneath the counter. The console and all receivers and transmitters should power on.
    1. NOTE: if not all units power on, trace the power the unit in question and verify power cable is connected.
