In July 2022, Hickory Withe sent a team of 19 to Medford, Oregon to partner with Living Hope Church. The team served through work projects and outreach in the local community, and with VBS. It was through this VBS one young girl surrendered her life to Christ. That’s what we’re called to missions for.
It’s no secret that missions is a critical aspect of Christianity. We are not called to keep our faith private, but rather show it, live it, and proclaim it to the entire world. We are to be bold in our faith, sharing and being a servant to those in need.
Jesus himself did not sit around; He served His community and proclaimed the gospel wherever He went. He was the ultimate example that we should follow. Being a follower of Christ means always being on mission, constantly looking for ways to imitate Christ and serve others.
Being on mission doesn't necessarily mean going on every mission trip, it means looking for ways to minister to the lost. Being on mission means showing the love of Christ to everyone and everywhere, always.
